Upcoming Family Friendly Events

Winter
The lakeshore communities of West Michigan do a fantastic job of hosting events and activities that include the whole family. There's so much happening that is geared specifically toward kids and families as a whole, and that's part of what makes being here so amazing!

Every season in West Michigan has it's unique, fun things to do for kids of all ages- from babies up to the "young at heart". Indoors or outdoors, no matter the time of year, there's always something great going on along the lakeshore for families to experience together!

In addition to the following list, check out all the special events and programs provided by Sandcastles Children's Museum and the Ludington and Scottville branches of the Mason County District Libraries!

Here's a list of family friendly events happening along the lakeshore in February:



Every Wednesday beginning February 5th, 5-6:30pm


Youth Sewing Group at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts- 107 S. Harrison St. The group is led by Deb Borema and meets in the center's craft room. The Youth Sewing Group is FREE to children and grandchildren of LACA members ages 12 and up or a $35 LACA membership can be purchased to join the group. Call (231) 845-2787 or e-mail info@ludingtonartscenter.org to register. Class is limited to 10 people.

Thursdays from February 6th-27th, 4:30-5:30pm


Kids Clay Club for kids ages 6 and up at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts- 107 S. Harrison St. in Ludington. During the workshop children will have the opportunity to explore all things pottery (potters wheel, slab building and glazes) while taking part in structured and experimental projects. Cost is $12 for LACA members and $15 for Non-members per week. Drop-ins are welcome but pre-registration is appreciated. Call (231) 845-2787 or e-mail info@ludingtonartscenter.org to register.



Every Thursday beginning February 6th, 11:30am-12:30pm


Moms & More at West Shore Family Support- 603 E. Tinkham Ave. in Ludington. Moms are invited to gather for a cup of coffee and to be encouraged and equipped for motherhood. A trained facilitator will lead discussions around topic that matter to moms and their quest to provide safe and loving homes for their young children. Children are welcome. Snacks and crafts will be provided.

Saturday, March 14th


Various Times - St. Patrick's Day Festivities in downtown Ludington.

10am-3pm - 29th Annual Family AfFair at Mason County Central High School- 300 W. Broadway St. in Scottville. Interactive booths with games/activities for families. Food available for purchase. Free admission and open to the public.


Friday, March 20th, 6-8pm


Pentwater PTCO Carnival at Pentwater School- 600 E. Park St.

Tuesday, March 24th, 6pm


Sportsman's Dinner at Lighthouse Baptist Church- 1950 N. Jebavy Dr. in Ludington. Advance tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for children age 12 and under. After March 15th, tickets are $30 for adults and $25 for children.
